Yamini Naidu says clarity is everything when it comes to telling purposeful stories.
It’s in doing the hard work of clarity that we drill down to the absolute nugget – the absolute reason for telling the story in the first place, and connecting with our customers.
Yamini is the world’s only economist turned story-teller and is consistently voted in the top three business storytellers globally. She is also the co-author of Hooked.
In the video to the right, the fourth in the webinar series, Clarity, Through A Glass Brightly, Yamini will inspire you to use storytelling, the most powerful tool in your communications armoury, to it’s fullest and most exciting potential.
Yamini’s three techniques to find clarity and tell great stories
THE THREE P’S OF STORY TELLING
Collect anecdotes and story ideas from the news, TV, people around you, things you see in daily life and keep them in a list on a platform like evernote to refer to.
You don’t have to know immediately what you’re going to use them for.
Then you need to think, how can I make the story personal? How can I weave a plot around it? What purpose does the story have?
CARRY A NOTEBOOK AND PEN
ALWAYS note down your ideas (ED NOTE: as you will forget them for sure if you don’t!)
ANCIENT HOPI WISDOM?
Ancient Hopi wisdom quote who are environmental warriors. They believe that he who tells the best stories rules the world. So are you ready to rule your world with the clarity and power of story telling.
From Sandy: My purpose is to work with business owners one on one to get clear on their intention for being online. Then they can define their purpose, their business principles, and create an online presence which allows them to communicate coherently and with purpose to build their community.
